I want you to check his Id.
All I know is that he was collected from the Tapazos River. He came in under the name of lacardae, but under the chin or by the number of pores, he's not.

Definitely not lacardae. Looks intermedius.

Even with 5 pores. It can be either australis, brasiliensis or intermedius. Didn’t see the ll scale count pic. Forget the intermedius because the scale count isn’t right. Then it has to brasiliensis.

What is his maximum size?
His current size is 28 centimeters.

His current size is 28 centimeters.
That’s about big as it gets that’s been reported from what’s availabe. Don’t see enough of these fish to know. But larger than 28cm have been suggested to been caught.
