I'd say a senegal is a much better choice, just watch the growth long term. It may well end up being big enough to snack on rosy barbs but it'll take a while to get there, giving you options to reshuffle

Yeah... I wish I could.

Basically, I was planning to get 3 but there was only 1 left at the lfs. When I brought it home, my parents hated it and said it looked like a snake- an argument ensued.

Luckily, they have taken a decent liking to him recently but I am sure they would definitely say no for another one.
