So I recently received 4 healthy female Congo tetras....of course I had to go looking for a male.....

I needed up coming home with......

2x 1.5 inch gold tiger L333 ‘belo monte’ plecos....and a male Congo haha

One pic in the bag, and one pic in the tank...one took off and hid right away while one hung out for pics. Now I need pleco caves and I’m sure I won’t see these two for another month. I’m also hoping for a male and female...one is darker than the other so that’s a good start.

Lol yea they are like the poor man’s zebra pleco they cost 1/5th of the price where I live

I have read they bred easily in the aquarium. I wish there were more than just the two when I picked them up, I would have bought 4 if they were available

At about 4” give them a nice tight cave and let nature do the rest,

I haven’t owned plecos for quite a long time, and honestly I’ve never given them a cave before. That was my next planned purchase. do you have a recommendation for cave size? Length width and height?

I think the plecos look great! Good luck breeding them. Maybe keep an eye out locally and see if you can’t add a few more over the coming months.
