I have a 75 gallon with 2 hob aquaclear 110s AND a FX6. Am I just crazy or is this something you guys dream of?
Thanks

Isolation sickness......?

Seems like a lot of current and power use for a 75 but I am sure someone will chime in that they run two FX6 on their 29 gallon long!
hahaha seriously. i like current on tanks that have fast fish like exos and congo tetras and etc i think it looks nice like natural river

There is rarely too much filtration. I run a HOB aquaclear 30 and a built in filter on my fluval spec v lol.

I run a top fin for a 55 and a marineland 350 on both of my 55's. But I have poop machine cichlids. Sure it's overkill but the need to vacuum is less than running one HOB.

Join the filtration club.

Not my approach, I tend to think more in terms of filter efficiency, but to each their own. One thing to know is the abundant filter and media capacity doesn't add to your beneficial bacteria, which balances with available nutrients, not according how many filters you have. In other words, more filters doesn't mean extra beneficial bacteria, a similar volume of bacteria will simply be distributed less densely. Beyond merely maintaining beneficial bacteria, some 'extra' filter capacity might keep your water clearer-- but there's still a point of redundancy.

I wouldn't do it for types of fish that prefer slower water. On the other hand, if you're planning for a future tank, it's one way to get a filter started, or partially started, for the new tank.

+1. I Generally dont like maintaining multiple filters too and prefer to focus on the least possible number of devices while maximizing filtration.

I’d probably take off one of the AC 110s.

I have a 75g with an FX4 (I wish it was an FX6 though) and a Tidal 110 HOB. I find that to be enough. I’m a stickler about organic matter in my tanks, so I load all of my filters up with mechanical.

Dont know if i should stock the fx6 up to full trays or biological media or not, currently im running it with what it comes with which isnt alot... lol

I would take off one or both of the AC110's and put more biofiltration media in the fx6. My old ac110 was loud as hell and I don't miss it. I have two 406's on my 75 and they're more than sufficient.
