Yea. It’s better ingested. So whatever ur able to do to get the fish to eat.
Or starve the fish until he does eat the hexshield
May need a break in food for it to take the medicated food.

Or will it ever time for the worst? I know it’s rarely fatal so does the fish ever get to a point where it stops eating like many other diseases? Become more lethargic? I’m new to this disease.
It can get worse if u don’t act now. It’ll get stressed and sick. Bacteria may take over. Then get lethargic and stop eating. It’s a cycle. So would act now.

duanes duanes This one looks to be a male due to steep forehead profile correct?

I don't see steep in either of the photos, compared to this...... then again mine are @ 8".
True for 3.5-4” i thought It was steepish lol maybe i’m wrong. Also don’t notice any of the green yellow coloring on mine but it’s red is very pronounced could it be a different strain? Or just the way Juvenilles are ?

Different ancestral locations with have different color variation.
If the topography of one river is different than one a mile away, a certain color that offers the best way to evade predators may be naturally selected.

It also appears you have bare bottom(?) this may effect how a fish presents.
Or as simple as lighting, on the tank below used only sun light.

Not a bare bottom but light gravel so could be why it’s showing more light silvers than the yellows and greens. All I know is this is a beautiful species of fish and glad I came across it

So I’ve starved the fish for a few days now but the geo still spits out the hex shield what should I do. Will feeding it normal food combined with a non stressful environment itself help with HITH
