my Grandma has a 20 gallon long that hasn’t been used for a long time and i want to put some kind of Predator fish that does well with 8.6 ph and high high hardness. I can’t think of any dish that would do well in that but I’m assuming you guys will

Luciocephalus puncher.

With that water chemistry and tank size, the only thing that comes to mind is altolamprologus compressiceps/calvus.
At full size they are about 6", which may be a bit large for a 20 gallon. But they are very slow growers. There is also a variety which stays smaller, A/ comp/ "shell"

Ur probably looking for freshwater but if saltwater is OK for you then I would suggest none other than the MANTIS SHRIMP
also for freshwater.... figure 8 puffers would do fine... Or a South American leaf fish but they need soft water tho
