I'm looking at buying a 225 gallon aquarium and the dimensions given were 72x27x27 and I know that it adds up to being a 225 gallon aquarium but the aquarium only has two sections on it. i have never seen a 6ft tank with only two sections and didn't know if they actually are built like that. if someone could let me know if aquariums that long can be only two sections that would be great.IMG_0582.PNG

Those measurements must be off vs the picture.

If its really 72x27x27 then the ends would be square. Look at the pic, the height is greater than width even accounting for the frame. Just eyeballing that pic it looks like a 125 possibly a 150.

As far as the single brace goes, that's how they were made about a decade or so ago. Thicker glass less brace needed. Today is thinner glass more brace.

Looks to be a 125g that the owner tried to jack up in size haha. My buddy went to go get a 300g he saw on craigslist a few weeks ago and showed up to a 75g priced at $600 lol

That’s balls for sure! Craigslist /Covid combo!

Could be what some call a 220 , 72Lx24wx30h
Kinda hard to tell from the picture.
Comes out to 224.4 but that’s not exactly right because it doesn’t allow for the glass.

based off the trim size Im thinking it looks too thin to be 24" but it might just be out of scale to me

Yeah when you blow it up the glass thickness doesn’t look right to the frame.
The glass would have to be at least 1/2 tempered min for a 220.

I had a 135 long ago that was 72x18x24
( no bracing on that one 3/8" glass)
that is kind of what this looks like to me just eyeballing it

Yah, that's the skinniest 225 I ever saw....mine must be overweight, lol. I usually look at reference points (outlets, door knob heights, etc). People can get cute blowing up size...I'd be ticked if I drove 100+ miles for a 225 that was really 125 or even 180.
