question about size of 225 gallon aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah tbh that could ever be a 55 lol

WOAH. Just noticed, the tank is sitting crossways on ONE cinder block at each end...standard block is just under 16", so there's the answer. It's either

125
135
150

a 225 would hang way over. Only way that tank might be 225 is if its 7ft (not happenin).

Yeah when you blow it up the glass thickness doesn’t look right to the frame.
The glass would have to be at least 1/2 tempered min for a 220.

That's exactly what my 225 has all around, 1/2 tempered. Added back several gallons in volume versus 3/4 regular glass without having to bump up the size. Either mine's too fat, that one's too skinny, or somebody is trying to be slick...I see a lot of kooky tank sizes on Craigslist at times, like 68 gallon (really?) 52 gallon, 44 gallon tall and stuff. I usually ask sellers if they would post a pic with an object like a soda can or basketball. Or lean a yardstick against the walls. Eliminates guessing and 'creative' tank sizing. Reminds me of real estate pics that make a 8 x 11 bedroom look 12 x 20.

Yeah . People try to scam and then again some people just don’t know so they guess.

Best thing to do is tell them to give you measurements of the tank.
Then you can do the math yourself instead of someone just guessing.
If they give the inaccurate measurements then they are just trying to scam you.
