I am currently planning on placing 2 Hydor Koralia 3G 2450gph beside each other, but debating placing 3. As I have the turnover rate (similar to having 3) in a smaller aquarium and love the results.

The aquarium dimensions 6' x 2' x 2.5'.

I would like to place them on the side of the aquarium in a row pointing upward as to create a circle-like circulation path. Will it make a difference if they are right adjacent to eachother or spaced out an inch or two apart.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

As long as there’s no dead spots and it’s not too strong for the fish, I don’t think it matters. I would just play with the spacing until it’s the way you want and works for the fish and dead spots

You wanna push some water grab a mp40 or (mp60 May be overkill)

Had more thoughts, I have two of the mp40’s they come on high after feeding - scheduled - it kicks up all the poo n left over food and gets it in the overflow...

Yeah I was considering the mp60 since it would be similar to the output of 3 Hydor Koralia 3G 2450gph, but man I am going to have to think about spending over a grand on it. Versus spending almost a quarter of the cost for the 3. (Prices in CAD)

When I used to have my reef tank, I just used cheap Chinese wave makers from eBay and they worked fine and were only around $20 each, I still have them 6 years later and still moving my water in my fresh water setups now

Same here, just use the cheap ones, i thought if they break I will just grab another cheapy but they have never broken

Never had one break either, even after being in salt water for years, a lot of the expensive equipment is a scam in my opinion, not always but many times
