Azureus should have 3 spots on their sides, even when fully colored the spots can still be seen sometimes, they are more visible when the fish isn't fully colored. A common trait on most, if not all, copidochromis. I cant tell for sure because your guy wont quit moving, but I dont see any spots.
No, your fish does not appear to be C. azureus.

Thanks, I’ll keep an eye out for spots, he’s still pretty small and just starting to color. Any ideas what he is, I think his shape is wrong for a fryeri. I got 3 of the fish in this tank from a breeder and the rest were assorted, so maybe a hybrid?
I wouldn't even attempt to guess. Other members may be more confident in guessing. So many hybrids in this part of the hobby that short of a reliable breeder, and some sort of provenance back to the wild for the parents, it becomes a real guessing game. The scary part is when folks take a few wild guesses, then start breeding fish (and passing along fry) based on those guesses.
