Thought it would be cool to make a new thread on wolves! Let's make it a little more interesting and also write where the wolf is from if you happen to know.

1.) Hoplias lacerdae (Manua Brazil)
2.) Hoplias aimara (Venezuela?)
3.) Hoplias lacerdae (Tapajos river)
4.) Hoplias sp. (Misiones)
5.) Hoplias curupira ("choco")
6.) Hoplias intermedius (presumably)

Contingent upon individual fish's personality.
One of mine lived fine with barbs and other fish and the other killed literally everything or tried to

Amazing collection . Possibly took some time tracking down vendors for these beauties.

Oh yeah it was some work lol

The choco curupira and misiones was from George at shark aquarium before he shut down, the tapajos lacerdae was from Jeff rapps who brought in a handful a few years back had to make a 11 hour trip to pick him up from another gentlemen on the forum bc he sold out, the manua lacerdae was a process to get was sent a wrong fish initially but the awesome vendor took care of me and made sure to send the right fish the second go around. The presumably intermedius was by pure luck, it was an odd one out of a group of malas, and the aimara was the easiest to get. A LFS in queens always has them in. Aimaras are pretty common now. I don't see why they're so expensive still

Hahaha I hear you. Tracking down certain fish can take days, months and even years.
Good going on getting all of these. I think Aimaras will still have somewhat of a hefty price tag to them.
Look at Clown loaches at any size they are pricey after so many decades.
Sometimes I can find them on sale at a local place for 8 bucks for a inch and a half.

George. Those were the days. It’s where I got my black wolf from, too. You’ve got seriously nice fish ?
