Hi all my two fishes have had a fight and she always goes for his mouth and now he can’t even close it I’m worried his going to stop eating and die before the medication starts to work what should I do ? image.jpg

It looks like he has a big wound in his mouth. How long ago did they fight? Do they always fight and one ends up wounded like this? If yes you might have to separate the two fish. With regards to the wound the fish has now, I think you just have to wait and it will eventually get better. It looks like a pretty big fish so eventually, it can go for a long time without eating with no problems.

I agree. Fish, especially adults in good health can go quite a while without food. Most fish in the wild don't eat daily.
K Kaitlinellen you said "always goes for his mouth" this indicates to me this happens alot and they need to be separated. Lip locking in humans is ok (as long as both parties are in agreement) in fish not so much, if one fish damages the other enough to not be able to defend itself the other will then be able to attack it's fins and slowly beat it to death. Sometimes it's just a quick see whos the boss thing that ends with little to no injury but some fish just won't let other stay in the same area. If the other fish doesn't or can't get away it has no choice but to defend itself best it can or get chased and beat.

These fish are a lot tougher than you may think. This is my old male Festae.
The female ripped his lower lip off and then it healed up with this little piece that looks like a growth was the remains of his lower lip.
It will probably heal up like the other have said just make sure that it has time too before they are fighting again.
