Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?

I had a beautiful 13 inch male festae I got 3 months ago. Right after getting him, I noticed white bumps develop (thinking Lymphocystis). He was quarantined and didn't make it. His initial symptoms were the white bumps that started small and got progressively worse. I could not get him to eat either.

Two days ago, I picked up a beautiful 11 inch male. Here we go again. He won't eat and tonight I noticed a small white, pimple like bump. I do not want to lose him. What can I do? I'm currently treating him with api general cure (only parasite med I could find). I also have seachem focus that I'm trying to mix with food, but he won't eat.

First picture is the deceased festae and second one is the current fish I'm trying to save.

Help! Anything I need to be doing?

Sorry to hear that. That does look like some sort of viral disease like lymphocystis or herpes (fish pox). Don’t think there is a cure for either. Best I can think of is keeping the water pristine, keep lights dimmed, and remove aggressive fish to give the fish a chance to heal on its own. My worry would be secondary bacterial infections attacking those sores

He's quarantined in a 54 gallon tank. Any thoughts on preventing a secondary bacterial infection?

Frequent water changes to keep water very clean, don’t overfeed, maintain filters...just good husbandry to keep bacterial blooms in check. Other than that, just keep an eye on the sores itself and medicate when needed
