So just a few days ago I just learned that that goldfish shows exist and I'll like to know if any one has any personal experience with one because I may go back into goldfish and it may be fun to enter a show.

Goldfish show is normal in Japan. Well, there is a whole town have goldfish everywhere, Store entry, water way, house hold spring water holder (actual spring water that each house got their own fresh spring water pipe direct to their water tank holder and overflow back to the river.
Also, There is a huge man made pond you come and pay to fish the goldfish, you can keep all the one you fished up, or just keep the one you like, the pond content all kind of goldfish from common to ultra rare goldfish species.

They have been around for centuries, going back to ancient Japan.
More recently, there are killifish, Live Bear, Betta, and cichlid extravaganzas all over the U.S., put on by the American Cichlid Assn, the Greater Chicago Cichlid Assn, and America Killifish Assns to name a few . I have attend regional and national killifish and cichlid weekends.
They usually end with amazing auctions where you can pick up many rare and not often seen species, produced by breeders from all around the country.

Fish shows seem big in the U.K., not so much here. I've never been to a show but went to a koi auction once, in Singapore, it was brutal, one discoloured scale on a fishes head made the difference between a huge sell price and no one bidding.
If that's the standard at a goldfish show better bring your Agame.
If there's one held near you just go and check it out, sounds like fun.

I’ve never been to one in person, but I’ve entered a virtual one before.
It’s fun. I love seeing other people’s fish.

Never been to one. I have never really been into goldfish, but recently found out how personable they can be in person. Some look cool. Obviously I've always liked koi, cool finage and colors. I've seen some gold fish with some of those traits too.

What kind of goldfish were you into back in the day.....so to speak? Did you have a big tank of them or a pond?
Sounds like the shows are kind of cut throat.

The British Cichlid Assn, and Federation of British Aquatic Societies put on regular conventions, and events.
The later group encompasses everything from goldfish and koi, to marine fresh water, tropical and cold water species.
I was in London in 2010, and there was a large cichlid convention I sadly just missed.
