I have a 75g with my breeding pair of JD's but the tank is going through a algae bloom and would like to maybe get a small pleco I have a common pleco in my 6ft tank who is quite the character. and would like to know what speices could work in my 75 It cant bother the fry or eggs if their is something other than a pleco let me hear it!!!

Thanks!!

SAEs, BNP varieties, or most L number plecos. I have P. Maccus (clown pleco) that only get 4in. Leopard Frog plecos are cool.

Most Pleco's will eat eggs and wrigglers at night when the cichlid parents rest.
They (Plecos) usually don't bother free swimming fry, although the parent JDs might see it as a threat, attack and kill it.
I usually allow as much algae as will grow in fry tanks, because it makes good grazing for free swimming fry
Ancistrus (bristle nose) usually stay in a good size for a 75.

Have you tried snails or a hillstream loach? Upside down catfish maybe? They're good at hiding until lights out.

I don't know about eggs if they came across them but I think fry would have to swim into it's belly.

Not a catfish, mollies could work to eat algae and become dithers, but they might eat fry and the jacks could eat the mollies fry too.
