If it doesn't already have one, you will need to buy a bulkhead to attach plumbing to.

For bottom drilled tanks you will need to build a weir, or (easier) use a stand pipe cut to the length where you want the waters surface to be.

I also use PVC for piping threaded into the bulkhead bottom, leading to the sump.

What is commonly done in Japan is to return your water up through the middle of the drainage pipe so it's more compact and neater.
On the drainage side, use an elbow underneath the tank to carry water away to filter. On the return, drill into and through this elbow so the return line goes back concealed. Seal the elbow with plastic heat gun or PVC putty.
