my 75g recently got a greenish tint to the water due to a algae bloom It is at the poit where I can not see the fish if they are at the back of the tank I tried large water changes and I dont want to do the black out treatment or buy a UV sterilizer is their any other way?

Thanks!!
PS the water is only low because on the other side of the divider there are some delhezi bichir grow outs!

I agree with Daffrey86, turn the lights out for a week or two and see if that helps.

It is in a basement but it has windows will the room light effect it or can I just leave the tank lights off
Ya just leave the tank lights off and let it get whatever natural light comes in and see if that helps, if it does, just continue until the algae is at the level you want. Have you tested your water? That does look like a lot of algae to me tho

I agree with what was mentioned, fish will adapt quickly. Should not stress them out. One other thing to look at is how the light from the windows comes into the room throughout different times of the day. In the summer I face algae growth due to the shift in angle of the sun but not in the winter.

Never hurts to test the water, maybe there was a shift in the bio load as well, be it a filter or algae in the pick up tube and in the internals of the pump.
