I have been keeping this arowana for about 4 months now. When its first arrived (16 cm) it is very fearful of people. It will swim hastily in panic whenever someone approached it. Now, it has gotten much better. It exhibits very good appettite (feed it twice daily), didnt show sign of panic when i clean the aquarium (it even swim near my hand). However, any sudden quick movement outside the aquarium glass or touching the aquarium glass will make it go nuts and even hitting the glass sides in the process of panicing. I would like to get some insight on how some of you managed to tame your arowanas.

It may think a predator is after it. After a Silver Arowana I once had reached over the 1ft mark it stopped being skittish. I would tell everyone to walk up to the aquarium slowly also you could cover the sides that may help.

its interesting to know that this is part of their natural instict to stay alive. I already did cover the back and sides of the aquarium. I believed it has helped my fish to stay calmer, but it is only a temporary solution to tame the fish. I guess as it gets matured it will be less frightened. thank you for your contribution ?
