Hey so I’ve had my flowerhorn for just under 2 years now, everything has been fine until recently I’ve noticed a lump on his back (sort of looks like a fluid build up) just wondering if anyone knows what it is?
It’s slowly getting bigger it started about half an inch long (a few months ago) now it would be about 2in long aswell as moving down his scales. It hasn’t affected his swimming or anything like that, I’m just a little worried as it’s slowly getting bigger. I’ve been searching but haven’t found anything that looks like it so far, sorry in advance if I’ve missed a thread about it.

The tank is 400lt (105g), filter is an Fx6, I clean his tank every 5 days with a 30% water change and clean the gravel, and the parameters are
Temp 27.5°c (81.5°f)
7.6 ph
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
10-15 nitrate

Thanks

One near the belly looks worst.

Yeah I'm not too familiar to diseases when it comes to FH's. Never really had too much for bad luck when it came to mine so this here is something new to me. Hopefully one of the moderators knows what's going on with this poor guy. I do agree with Ruturaj tho that the spot towards the anus has got to be the worst part of it. At first I thought it was a prolapse but seeming that it's strictly external that's cause for even more concern.

I’ll get a couple better photos of that, he’s always had a raised area around his anus ever since he was small when I bought him, as he’s grown it’s grown with him so I’ve always thought it’s just been normal for him, thanks for the replies.

The areas in question don’t look like much. Could be something growing from under the skin. Not infection or parasitic in nature from looking at it.

Okay thanks, would you recommend anything or just keep an eye on it and see if anything changes?
