I believe the algae that is basically hard stuck to the tank glass is green spot algae. I can scrape it off but is there any way to help it from not coming back?.... flourish?... flourish excel?... more light?... less light?.

Tank lights are on 8 hrs a day on the 180 gallon and they are beamswork picture of the lights below.

My guess would be more nutrients or light in the tank than needed. The light seems good with only 8 hrs a day. Maybe add more plants or if dosing with ferts, dose less. Floating plants usually help if you don’t have them already.

Looks like there's some windows in the reflection. Perhaps the sheer curtains are letting too much light through. Use a magic eraser to clean the glass. I scrubbed a spot for 5 min with a microfiber rag but it wouldn't come off. The magic eraser wiped it away in one swipe.

GSA on the glass is easy to get rid of using a razor blade. What’s hard is on slow growing leaves of Anubias and Buce. Nirite snail is said to be the only grazer of GSA, and I have a few in my Anubias tank. But they don’t make a difference ubless I have a high population of snail, but then I’ll have to tolerate unsightly white eggs all over . I have no solution of GSA on plants except by avoiding slow growing plants altogether. I can tolerate GSA on leaves which aren’t too unsightly, just turning the leaves into dark mosaic green.

Another thing I forgot to mention, I have two light fixtures on my tank and one has actinic blue. That half grows green spot algae the other side with more pinkish hue does not. So the blue LEDs in the fspecs may be causing more algae than a fixture with more red or daylight would. I dont have them yet but heard on OFR if you buy the timer you can turn off individual colors.
