Hi,
I’ve just started my plywood tank build. I cleared my garage out yesterday to make room and built the frame for my stand today. I also picked up a cheap 6x2x2 tank to convert to a sump.
I know how to build and seal the tank my main issue is the filtration? Or move specific the water leaving the tank ?

I’m guessing 3x 2” bulkheads (1 as an overflow) would be sufficient?
Does anyone have any set up I can see?
The sump will have 6x 7” filter socks flowing into a moving bed of k1 onto alphagrog or similar then ??? And then returned through an in-line 2kw pond heater. I will also set a 25w pond uv up to the sump

81 was a great year! Nice job on the stand and good find with the sump. I'm in the final stages of the design process for my own build and filtration will be the last part I will address. Wish I could help but your off to a great start already. All I can suggest is search through the setup and filtration section here. Might want to post this here as well. I'm sure some of the more experienced diyers will chime in with support and advice

Hi and Thanks for the advice ?

Welcome to the forums C Cichla1981 ,fellow cichla lover over here. Just off the top of my head here this is how I would set it up. The 3 2" holes would be strictly for the bean animal overflow, then 2 more 2" holes for your return plumbing. You will also need at least A 1" hole for your water change and a 3/4" hole to refill the tank. These are bulkhead sizes and not the actual hole sizes.

Hi and thank you

Off topic: I see a Fiesta ST in the background. I own a Focus ST and love it.

Back on topic: I've been curious on how to filter such a tank since I've been wanting to build one with similar dimensions
Hi, the car is my neighbours ha I’ve got a new focus STline ... not quite as fast but still a nice looking car ?
