Saw one for sale recently and i was wondering what it would take to keep one
Keeping any Catshark is equivalent to keeping freshwater or Saltwater Rays not that difficult if you have the proper size aquarium, filtration, and do consistent wc's. I personally raised two Marbled Catshark pups in the late nineties with info of care from a petstore I worked for prior .
Your parameters will have to be stable at all times with low Nitrate also very critical never use any products that contain Copper that will kill your shark. Tbh my Marbled Catsharks probably would have lived longer if I didn't feed them feeder Goldfish. Both were female and laid eggs a couple of times. The eggs were actually fertile but didn't know until yrs later. I definitely suggest a large Sump or multiple Sumps.
Oof. Honestly that seems like a but much for me at this moment in time. Maybe later in lifePlease never keep them with any specie of Trigger. Had a Trigger fish bite the eye out of a Bamboo Shark.

I agree with the previous posts while adding that though their care is similar, bamboo sharks are not catsharks.
Yeah, good old lfs with their mislabled fish such as vampire tetras and so forth....Thank you for clarifying that unfortunately they were called and labeled Catshark at that time in the lfs.
