8 inch peacock bass smashed his mouth

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey bro, I'm also leaning towards "nothing much you can do thing."
Except for taking care of the water much more in the coming days.
I'd rely on the fish's own self healing ability and help it by making sure all water parameters are checked.

I wouldn't also move him, it could inadvertently add more to in injury.

So I waited a week... he probably grew another half inch...lol. eating fine and colour is coming back...I moved them into the 200 gallon pond I built for them...tricked him into a bucket. Drip acclimated... and he has been fine.... THANK YOU ALL for your info and concerns, it kinda put my mind at ease....

Glad to know he's finally doing better. A good appetite is a good sign. That transfer by bucket was a nice move, no physical stress on the fella.
Its really a good feeling and rewarding seeing and knowing that a fish under our care is recovering. That I can really relate.

well it's been a while since my last post... both fish are doing great...The one that smashed his /her mouth is well over 12 inches....they are so happy in their new setup.. once again thank you all for the input and concerns.. MFK and I helped a fish live and thrive just about a year old now and well over 12 inches... man they grow fast... thx MFK community!!!

Is it doing this for anyone else? If I click on it it shows the quoted message and if I click on it again it hides it. Similar to a nsfw blurring online where you have to click it to see it.
