Definitely not, don’t think any of them can survive African plus the water differences. I am setting up dedicated tanks for them. They are even more expensive and demanding than the Africans.Oh ok, I wouldn’t try with most of those

I have had terrible luck with the more expensive plecos, I tried a royal and a false zebra and both lasted about a month, not sure why but that was enough to move on.Definitely not, don’t think any of them can survive African plus the water differences. A lot of Pleco are wild so needs to be deworm. Also, diet is pretty important. I find their tank mates makes a huge difference. They are slow so often out compete on food. I leave zucchini 24/7. I swap out with new one every 10 hours or so. I also feed variety of food.I have had terrible luck with the more expensive plecos, I tried a royal and a false zebra and both lasted about a month, not sure why but that was enough to move on.
That was probably my mistake then, I didn’t deworm and I fed them like i did my bn and Redfin and common pleco, algae wafers , and regular food like brine and hikari omnivore pellets etc..A lot of Pleco are wild so needs to be deworm. That’s one possibility, if you keep them together, could be aggression also. I just started and not realizing they can be very territorial and kill each other. When I first started, I was told by multiple people it’s ok they fight and as long as there are enough hiding they can be good and loss 3 pleco due to aggression. That was probably my mistake then, I didn’t deworm and I fed them like i did my bn and Redfin and common pleco, algae wafers , and regular food like brine and hikari omnivore pellets etc..
My BN used to fight with the Redfin all the time until the Redfin got big. The two i lost were the only plecos I had at the time. That’s one possibility, if you keep them together, could be aggression also. Yes I am starting to think they are very similar to African Cichlid Haps. Best to keep specie only with proper male to female ratio and proper tank size, else just keep one. To keep more, it’s similar to all male tank. Avoid similar looking, color, lots of hiding places, and it still might not work and will need to rehome. I was told by someone if there is one dominant one that serves as tank boss, then there can be peace until it doesn’t work again. I just setup one pleco only tank today and added 3 L029 and 2 L204, another growout tank, I have 1 L104, 2 L190, 1 L191, 4 L397, 1 L134, 1 L129, 1 L201, 1 BN, 1 L398.My BN used to fight with the Redfin all the time until the Redfin got big. That sounds sweet, you should post a pic or vid. I’m gonna stay away from plecos for now, I have 10 aquariums and three breeding projects going lolYes I am starting to think they are very similar to African Cichlid Haps. Constantly monitoring to see if they are fighting.
The tank looks empty most of the time, unless light is off but any movement will send them into hiding. I hear you, my is growing, 17 now and my wife wants me to cut down. Not breeding anymore cause to much hassle to sale and LFS don’t pay much. Maybe try the fancy Pleco breeding but not sure yet. That sounds sweet, you should post a pic or vid. Lol I’m in the same boat, my wife said no more. I’m breeding Xmas fulu, fryeri and rainbow cichlids, except for the fryeri, not many shops carry what I’m breeding, so hopefully I can sell some, I have a lot of fry but I’m growing them out more before I try to sell any. I have a friend that’s trying to breed green phantoms and has bred super red BN.The tank looks empty most of the time, unless light is off but any movement will send them into hiding.
