OMG. I THINK I HAD AN IDEA!! What about a California-themed tide pool with little fish in it. And have a sorta smooth rocky reef with natural algae and Little emerald crabs along with Anemones. And Tidepool Sculpin and some other species of fish!!! OMG!! Is that a good idea or what! I can send pics if you want

Huh....the teacup ray name is still a thing...sadly looks like none of them will fit in a 4' tub...guess I'll have to pass on them....
Max Size of Teacup Ray
Freshwater Stingray Profiles

Oooh, I forgot about the lima shovelnose! I always think of the TSN cats...But don't they kind of need the 6' or so so their "bills" don't get broken?

A tide pool would be interesting! I wonder what i could put into it...

Thalassophryne looks interesting! Not my cup of tea, but definitely interesting! I think I want fish that will move or do something interesting; this fish kind of reminds me of a stonefish...but definitely something I could see myself setting a tank up for at some point!

Hmmm....not the biggest fan of mudskippers at the moment, but maybe one day!
You could get around 150lbs of live rock or if it’s out of your budget get 50/50 live and dry and wait a couple months for all of it to become live, you’ll get some cool hitchhikers most likely, then get some easy dirty water corals like zoa, mushrooms, Xenia and Star polyps. They’ll grow like weeds and make the pond glow like Avatar. Maybe some clownfish and a few type of more peaceful damsels and a large school of chromis , maybe a coral beauty angel and a needle nose puffer, a filefish to eat any aptasia you might get by mistake, maybe a small tang like a khole if you want something a little more interesting, some hermits, various snails, some peppermint shrimp or any other easy critters you might like, add some macro algae like dragons breath. You would have an awesome and beautiful low maintenance reef/tide pool .

That sounds like a mini reef tank to me haha!

I think I might want to try a mangrove or 5? I might have to look up a few bonsai books, bonsai mangroves sound cool...

Lol ya, that’s a very easy reef to do, I’ve never done a lagoon, but I’ve seen a few and they are pretty damn cool and are definitely on my aquarium bucket list.

ABF, Clouded archers, Senegal bichirs with some branches hanging above the pond covered in pothos and moss would be cool.

Does nobody like my idea?! Haha! A mangrove-theme one would be cool. I am still caught up on the Tidepool Sculpin and other small, peaceful fish. I really think live rock with algae and hitchhikers would be cool.

Manning99 Manning99 I was thinking of archers, but might stray towards the more brackish members instead....bichirs are a bit too eel like for me, and I'm worried one would climb out of the tank....and african butterflyfish (ABF?) are cool, but not my style.

The Masked Shadow The Masked Shadow , it's an interesting idea. It would need a lot of research (which I guess is a plus, I like research) to get it right. Although sourcing the fish would be hard....

If you want to go hard brackish, you can do archers, puffers, mollies, and butterfly fish (the saltwater kind, from what I’ve heard they can go brackish). Various gobies could work as well. Also wasp fish, a four inch lion. You can do the mangrove setup this way and also get a mix of salt and fresh.

So....my brain lied. I just remeasured the tub using the thumb test and it's a lot smaller than I remembered it being. It's 3'x2'x1' really (50 gallon capacity). Soooo.....any more ideas? I think I might run with goldfish...
