Best Solo fish for a 55 gallon freshwater tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you have a petco in your area - 75g is $100 during dollar per gallon sale - the 75g with stand and lights at petsmart black friday is $299

GL!

Im freaking out rn since Im at school. But there is a 200g and a 55g free near me so I trying to convince some1 to grab them for me lol. I just hope I can convince them to get it. If I can't snag them imma be sad lol.

You'll probably need 4 muscular guys to carry the 200 out safely to a truck or trailer (if its made of glass) , and then to get it in your house. But well worth it when it comes to variety of fish selection.
The trick is to carry it evenly so it doesn't minutely twist and get stress cracks.

Sadly I'wont be able to get the 200 just since I currently don't have a working truck. But Ima try to get the 55g and buy a 75 as well.

For a 75 I will suggest an amphilophus sp. However I'd try to get a female since they're a tad bit smaller. I'm somewhat glad my trimac turned out female, which means I probably won't need to upgrade her if I'm keeping up with my wc schedule and all.

To get my 180 gal tank to whereI live, I had to hire a truck, with 4 guys, a boat to get it across 10 miles of Pacific ocean, another truck on the island a 4 more guys to get it from the truck onto my patio, at a cost of over $200, not including the cost of the tank.
This is not a hobby for the uncommitted.
A few weeks later an earth quake hit, and the tank has leaked ever since (luckily its on the patio)

I have a 36 bow. So far so good. The stand is crap though. They seem to collect algae easier than standard tanks.

You can rent a truck from Uhaul for like 19.99 if I'm not mistaken. And if it were me i would stay away from short body flowerhorns. FH's are known for having intestinal issues as it is. Short body seems like it would only make that more likely, and regular ones are not long fish to begin with so the difference in length is negligible in my opinion.

Are bow front tank good. I seen quite abit of them so ive been interested in them.
This is the first bow front I've owned, I would have preferred straight, but bought it used because it was the first decent size tank that became available here in Panama.
The only thing I find disconcerting is that for taking photos, the curvature can get a bit distorted if the camera angle isn't perfect.
