is super glue safe in large quantitys?

Though I've heard of the bandage use I never knew that super glue was used on corals and such.I guess that that answers my suspicion that the glue would eventually dissolve under water.
Doesn't dissolve any more than any other plastic does in water.

If you're going to glue underwater, have every hand movement and material planned and laid out before you even start. You only get one shot before it becomes a mess.

How about spray sticky stuff on the back of the tank outside and sprinkle the sand on top? No need to worry about the water and you can scrape it off if you choose to change the background.

Superglue is like quick setting cement, rigid and not plastic. The difficulty working underwater is that it sets too quickly. It’s much easier to work out of water, just make sure the contact surfaces are moist and dont glue your skin. But there are situations one must work underwater like glueing plants or coral to submerged objects.
