If you want a syno you see then Angelicus, when they get big they are out all the time. If you are definitely upgrading the the real giraffe catfish, out all the time so you will see it 500 percent more than a dwarf giraffe and it will interact with you. And this is from me the hemibagrus and bolt cat guy.
There are too many to list. You basically would like an uncommon catfish that would not exceed 1 foot in length and be active, not a hider. There are candidates from each catfish family. Perhaps if you browsed Cat-eLog on Planet Catfish forum and filtered it by size, you could tell us what catches your eye.
I have a 7in or so angelicus never come out of its cave with the lights on. Will take wafers from my hand at the edge of his log though.
