I picked up 8 2” wild caught Geo Abalios a couple days ago. Anybody have any tips on diet? I currently have them on frozen mysis, flake food, hikari vibra bites and crushed freeze dried krill.
Has anyone tried the fluval bug bites?

They would probably like the Bug Bites. All my fish love them.

One thing about Geos is that, because they sift sand in search of food, they seem to do better with smaller foods. Even medium sized Geos (5 - 6") seem to chew and spit out 3mm pellets multiple times. So with Geos, I tend to incorporate a smaller food. For young Geos I'd use the Bug Bites for "small to medium" fish. They don't seem to struggle as much when sifting that out of the substrate.

Thanks for the info! I’m gonna pick up some bug bites tomorrow....

Agree on keeping a manageable pellet size, especially for smaller geos. Other features about it in my opinion: In a tank with mixed size fish, the bigger fish are less likely to gobble most of it up before smaller fish get much. That way adults that have slowed or stopped growing and don't need as much don't get fat as easily and younger, growing fish get enough. It also keeps sand sifting fish, geos and others, occupied for a while finding them. Even after my (geos) put on some size I'll often use 1.5-2 mm pellets (NLS), though they can handle larger, though the bottom line is I adjust according to tank, etc. For smaller geos I'll do even smaller pellet size.
