Honestly I'd rehome the Oscar and go all geos. All the red heads I see for sale online are juvies & they aren't particularly fast growers. I don't see any way that they don't end up being Oscar food unless you're able to get adults

I personally would do the Oscar or a group of Geophagus Tapajos like you stated. The hardness of the water would be my concern due to both species being susceptible to HITH aka hole in the head disease.

thanks. not too worried about hith. the water is reasonably hard and I keep up with maintenance and that no problem. just wanting to add a few more fish once the goes get big enough. i have 8 atm but will rehome however many I need to once they are big enough to go in my 125. just wondering peoples opinions on how many to rehome

I would rehome 4 of them 1m/3f ratio .
