Hi. My flowerhorn accidentally ate undissolved metronidazole. Will he be okay? I was using it to treat hex.

Should be fine.

Metronidazol can have a negative effect on the fishs gut flora. Just to be sure I would give less food for the next days and nothing that is difficult to digest (oily food, to much protein etc).

How much did you dose? Can it be that you killed all the benefical bacteria in the filter?
In this case I would do a bigger water change immediately.

Thats is a high dosis. I would do a big water change and not feed the fish for 3 days and then start slowly increasing the food again. So that the filter bacteria can recover. Keep an eye on amonia and nitrite for next 10-14 days if possible.

Oh. I've been reading a lot how to heal my flowerhorn and it says the same dose that I put. But, I will do it. Thank you for the advice.
