Endi growth rate?

Doesn’t 14 inches in 7 years seem to be on the slow side? I guess maybe not for Dels and Sens but I’d expect some monster Endlis/Ornates/Laps in that time
This picture I took this morning. These two guys are from the same hatch. Lived together in the same tank and fed the same. Big size difference. So a lot of the growth rate has to do with the individual.

I agree, I thought for sure they would be larger by now? Their growth really slowed after about 3 years. The grow out tank when they had external gills was a 125 with bubblers for filters. The next tank they went in was a 450 with a constant water trickling system, 1 to 3 GPH. Very clean water. Now they are in an 1100. I feed massivor, silver sides, tilapia, and shrimp.
An 1100 gallon would explain why a 12-14inch bichir looks like it’s 3 inches ahah
yes I recalling seeing one of your previous threads on this - very nice setup! Hilarious how they choose to group in that monster tank.
