Ok, but I'm starting to want to find a alternative to a bn pleco as an algae eater. Any suggestions?

Nerite snails. Could easily fit a handful in a 30g no problem, only issue would be is they would need to be fed more often then the pleco but they are far cleaner imo. Also they have a built in defense of nasty tasting chemicals they secrete, acts kind of like fish repellent, most fish don't like their taste so just end up leaving em alone to do their own thing. Also they come in a very wide array of colors and patterns.

Could always go with a few hillstream loaches too. They kind of look like what ya would expect from crossing a pleco with a ray or flounder. Very wide and flat but still has a pleco like face/mouth. What I find neat about these guys is that after a while you'll be able to recognize particular fish from the others as their patterns are all unique to each one. Kind of like how our thumb prints set us all apart.

Ok, I'm already familiar with nerite snails so I'll probably do those but I'm going to do some research on hillstream loaches because I'm also considering those

Ok I guess I'll get a handful of nerite snails but they do not breed in freshwater so I might have to get a lot lol

Hillstreams do best in colder water, I would stay away from them.

True but ik atleast convicts and swordtails can tolerate lower temps. Not entirely sure if the HRP can tolerate the same temp range as a convict but if a convict can survive just fine in a tank that's only 60° I'm pretty sure a HRP could do the same. The cooler water imo wouldn't do all that much to it other then slow it's growth rate a lil. Granted the swordtails may not breed at lower temps but that ain't so bad.
