Just picked up another tank and the dimensions are seriously weird.
Tank size is 7’3.5”L x 21” W x 17” T coming out to around 130 gallons with my quick mental math.
Filtration will be two fx4s I’ve yet to use and pothos.

I was going to use it as another growout but I already have my 150g and 75g for that and neither are even full.

Another idea was a Datnoid biotope for longer term growouts. Perhaps 8-10 3-5” babies until they all hit 9-10”. Selling off my lesser favorites as they grew until about 4 were left.

Finally I was considering a school of 5x Odoe Pikes until they were around 13” but in my opinion that’s not enough room to turn for them so I scrapped this idea.

What would you guys use it for? The fish in it don’t need to be able to live life completely in the tank but I’d like to at least have fish that could spend 2 yrs Comfortably in there before being upgraded.
No African Cichlids or Salt Water ideas please.

awesome tank size. If I had a tank like that I would make it a central american river biotope. Riverine cichlids like rheoheros, theraps etc. And some belonesox belizanus pike livebearers.
Lots of other fish choices you could do and still go with the river thing. I just happen to like CA cichlids.

Maybe a clouded archer fish tank with a spiny eel species. If you want smaller fish and increase the flow, a stream biotop with rasboras and hillstream loaches may work.

Thanks for all the great suggestions guys. Today I picked up my starter inhabitant to help cycle the tank. He will definitely help keep the feel of a River biotope.

Everyone meet: Turtellini

Currently his shell is around 8-8.5” across but he’s about 13” with his neck stretched. He came from a buddy who kept him with a big school of cichlids, a few plecos, and a silver arowana. Apparently he has never even nipped another fish in the 10 months my buddy owned him. Once the tank cycles I’ll try my luck with a few fast moving smaller cichlids and see how they do.

So far he’s already very comfortable and outgoing. Hopefully he keeps the demeanor
