My 210 gallon is the first tank I've owned that's tall enough to create feeding issues. My finfeather cat doesn't come out for food much. When he/she was in the 75 gallon i hand dropped food in a cave below the wood they hang out in constantly.

Is there a device I could load food into and drop the food in particular places of the tank? I'm imagining having to roll up my sleevs every day to feed the squeaker and.... well that would suck!

What do yall do?

I feed after lights out and the room is dark. Especially in the 120g and 220g because nothing ever lasts long with the SD schools in both tanks. You could use your Python syphon tube if you have one. Aim it at the hiding place and drop food down.

You could get a pair of long plastic tongs that are made for fishtank use or get a clear plastic tube of the desired length....both items can be found in aquarium shops.

To play off Rocksor Rocksor idea.
Do you use a gravel vac for water changes?
Like the python.
I’ve used the plastic lift tube to get food down to the bottom.
It’s clear so you can see the food sinking through it.

I just cut some of the extra tub off my siphon hose so ill use that.

Thanks everyone!

You could even use it like a blow gun

Search online for aquarium tongs. I've got a super long plastic tong/grabber thing with spring loaded 'needle nose' looking business end. I mail ordered it years ago.

It's a pain when you have a tank with fish that have entirely different feeding needs and styles. I try to avoid those combos just because of the hassles.

pvc pipe/ acrylic tube mounted in the corner running top to close to the bottom. It would act like a feeding station and your bottom dwellers will figure out that's where you hang out for food. Bonus, your cats and plecos might end up coming out more often after a few weeks of 'training'.
