Thanks for all the suggestions, the Oscar seems to have backed off the bichirs now. He seems to be having beef with the belly crawler now. So I think I’ll know if he’ll work out after I move the BCP to his own tank. If i do move the Oscar my leading choices are the Tiger Pike, Datnoid and frontosa

i think there’s a bit of a ph difference there, not too sure if that’s a big deal as some people think. I believe you’re better off with an South American pike cichlid for the ph reason or the odoe if you want to keep it region based. Whatever you do Goodluck though

+1 Due to the different preferences in ph, I would not recommend Malawi barracudas. Odoe pike would be much better imo.

I suggest a non Cichlid tankmate. I personally tried Cichlid and Bichir combination and both Cichlids got pushy.
