Good morning.
This will be my first post in any forum of any kind. As stated in the description, I need help with my flowerhorn, Jim. He is a 2 year old Thai Silk X Red Dragon. I brought him home from my local pet shop almost a month ago to my 60 gallon tank. Filtration is a sump system combined with 2 sponge filters and an eheim 2213 (strong believer in lots of filtration). He recently had a bad spell of white spot which I cleared up very quickly by raising the water temp and doing 10-20% water changes every day. A week ago he became lethargic and pale before refusing to eat food. I have tried everything I know of to restore Jim back to full health and nothing has worked. His condition has worsened to the point where he is now sitting at the bottom of the tank barely breathing. He appears to have white fuzz on all of his body, I’m thinking fungus? Which leads me to this post.... I’m out of options so I’m left with asking for your help. What can I do to save him, or is it too late?
I genuinely look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Matthew.

How did yiu get on treating this fella, it looks to me like he's covered in fine white spot I could be wrong but when I zoom in on the pics it looks like white spot. Hope he's doing better now.

Good evening.
Thank you for your reply. It was not white spot, I’ve dealt with that quite a number of times since I started in this hobby, even though it does appear that way in the photo. In person it looked like a person’s skin peeling after a bad sunburn. Sadly nothing I did was able to save him and he passed away almost two weeks ago. I even added salt; seemed to help him for a bit, but in the end he passed. No clue as to why as I’ve not seen this before in fish ever.

Thanks for your concern and interest.
It is a shame that he passed as he was a beautiful fish, physically and personality wise as well. I’m hoping someone can eventually tell me what the problem was so that his death won’t be in vain.
