Hi everyone, my cichlids recently had fry and I don’t have much food for baby fish. If I can not do baby brine what would be the next best options?

You could grow infusoria. Take old tank water, but in a clear container like a water bottle, and put it in the sunlight. Once it turns green, you can dump the water back into the aquarium.

Or boil an egg, and after it cools to room temperature, put it in the refrigerator for a few hours. Crumble the yellow egg yolk into the tank. I've raised giant danios and rainbow fish this way until I could feed them flakes.

For the infusoria, would it cause an algae bloom in my tank?

For dwarf cichlid and angels BBS seems to work well. The problem with flakes and powder food is a lot of frys require the food to 'move' for them to 'chase' it. But if you go with powder northfin, hiraki sell powder fry food and kenfish has golden pearl at quite a fine granularity that i know several breeders use.

BBS would be the best but the OP stated didn't want to go that route.

It’s not that I don’t want to I just don’t have the supplies. I can make a diy one but the brine shrimp wouldn’t come soon. Are there any good BBS eggs on Amazon?
