Sao Paulo, Brazil
I'm curious to see where you live.

Allow me to start... I live in Jundiaí, a city that is 50km away from São Paulo. It's the second best place to live here in Brazil (due some new researchs).

The population is around 450.000 habitants wich makes here the 58° most populated city of the country.

We have one of the biggest remnants (7%) of the Mata Atlântica, the most diversificated biome we have here in Brazil (yes, proportionally more diverse than the amazon) and saddly the most deforested.

There is a lot of wildlife in the rural and forest zones of the city. Jaguars, pumas, ocelots, a lot of birds and some monkeys. All this nearby the biggest city in Latin America.

I'm really proud for living here.

Well... Just trying to interact a little more with the forum. Sometimes it's hard to be a non-english speaker. lol

What about you guys?

There are no big cities where I live. The nearest small town is about 9 miles away along the coast. I live in the extreme NW corner of California.

When it rains a lot, the beautiful Smith River turns a little angry. Lovely sound to fall asleep to.

Never heard about this island. I think it should be a very peacefull place. Beatiful place tho.
Most of the time its peaceful, and quiet except during times like Carnevale or certain holidays.
Because it has one of the closest beaches to Panama City, its a weekend getaway.
The island is about 10 miles out in the Pacific, and directly across from the southern entrance to the Panama Canal.

I live in a small town nestled between San Diego and Orange County. The town is called Encinitas and is famous for art murals, beaches, friendly people, awesome gardens, and history. The roots of the town come from England. In fact, the 2 towns next to us are Cardiff (named after a town in England) and Carlsbad (also a town in England)! We have roads such as Manchester, Birmighman, and London Boulevard. The town is also heavily influenced by Mexico, which is only 35 miles from it. The road El Camino Real used to be a trading road, and is historically important in California. The road was moved later on, but there is now Old El Camino Real, which attracts tourists to learn about our towns history.
Museums here include an old School House from who knows when! Everything was replicated, but the old school building is still here. Another tourist actraction are the well known boat houses. The houses are on some street close to the beach, and the houses are replicated to look like boats! There is also the Encinitas Heritage Museum, which has Knick knacks from when the town was first started.
We also have beautiful gardens and trails here. There is one lagoon in Encinitas, called the San Elijo Lagoon/Estuary. The Lagoon spreads out to canyons formed centuries ago, and there are hikes that you can take from there. There are also small creeks running throughout Encinitas. The gardens and art were added by our mayor, and she has done a great job remodeling and rebuilding Encinitas. But let’s not get onto politics!
Lastly, the beaches. We have several beaches here. The beach that is most popular is Moonlight Beach, which has a playground, volleyball courts, and snack bars. The less-popular beaches that are awesome are Swami’s, Stonesteps, and Beacons. Swami’s is awesome at lowtide because of the tide pools. Swami’s is home to LOTS of stingrays and harmless sharks that swim around. There are Octopi in the tide pools as well. In fact, I got bit by one when I stuck my finger down a hole. Dumb me. Fortunately, they aren’t to venomous, and it was a baby one. Stonesteps has great surf fishing, and is known for surfing. Beacons has a reef, and is known for massive waves. Unfortunately, there are Sharks there durin the summer. Last year, there was a guy in my school who got attacked by Great White and needed over 250 stitches in his arm, back, neck, head, groin, and stomach!

If you ever get a chance to tour Southern California, DEFINETLY come by Encinitas.

Edit: also, there are a few MFK members such as robmcd robmcd who grew up in Encinitas.

Gallery!

I live in Vancouver Washington

Vancouver is located in the most Southwestern portion of Washington state. On the west coast of USA. Right across the Columbia River is Portland Oregon. The region is known as The Pacific Northwest.

Any kind of nature getaway is just a short drive away. Couple hours west and you are at the Pacific ocean. Couple hours east and you got mountains, volcanoes, deserts, rich farmlands.
Great climate here, we actually get all the seasons and normally the seasons are rather tame. Above 90°f in the summer is rare and so are big snow storms. To make up for it we get LOTS OF RAIN hundred plus inches a year or more.

We are surrounded by volcanos.
