Hello every one so i know this can be done but not sure what to add. I have some where around half a five gallon bucket full of k1 micro in my sump. I am needing to tank the tank apart for a couple weeks or more. Long story short i am going to add another tank to the system and need to rip it all down to do so. I dont want to losse my cycle on my k1 or have it dry out and be covered in an amonia bomb once set back up. Can i take it out of the sump put in some kind of container, leave the air on and what to feed it to keep it alive, allso does it still need to be heated i am guessing not. Tha ks for your time

Place in a mesh bag and hang it in the aquarium.

Thanks, so i just finished watching a couple vids on how to calculate parts per million and is way beyond how my little brain operates. Is there a simple way to figure out per gallon of said solution or is it on thea label for the product i am currently working. So if i put in a 5 gallon home depot pail filled to four gallons per say not sure of the top of my head how mich is in there i knew to begin with but but have added alot to get my desired affect over time. Thanks for your time i do appreciate it

I would put 1 drop of ammonia, let it circulate and use API liquid ammonia test, as long as the test reads under 4ppm you are good

Thanks again. How often to add ammonia to the bucket. Not sure how much ammonia my fish add daily, weekly so forth just they do and my tank is way over filtered to deal it. Thanks

When ammonia tests 0ppm for 2 days in a row. So if ammonia is 1ppm on Tues, 0ppm Wed, 0ppm Thurs, you redose ammonia on Thurs. You will get a feel for how often you need to add the ammonia after some tests of 0ppm ammonia.
