I recently bought a 5cm ornate and I've been feeding twice a day (mostly tilapia, some bloodworms and mysis) up until I eased off two days ago. I would've thought with that much feeding I'd see waste almost every day but I notice he hasn't been going often. Should I be worried? I'd been a long while since I've had a poly that small so I don't remember how often mine used to go at that size. I added some epsom salts to his tank at a rate of just under a tsp. per gallon. Should I continue that for the next while?
Thanks in advance!

I personally skip a day after feeding Tilapia to my Polypterus because it seems take them a day or so to digest the fish. I wouldn't add Epsom salt unless the poly was bloated.

If he looks normal then you shouldn’t be worried. Don’t think the epsom salt was needed.. I have never cleaned up after my bichir’s poop because I almost never see it.
