I’m definitely concerned lol hopefully in a little bit I’ll have more pics from the side and see if that can help identify what’s going on here
I suggest treating him infections I’m not sure I’m not a expert on fish disease I only have experience but it looks like a fungal infection

If it looks like a piece of cotton, then it's highly likely that it is an infection from gram negative bacteria.
So I just googled what gram negative bacteria means lol and for humans at least it seems like penicillin is a solid cure and I know they sell penicillin tablets for fish so would that be a good treatment idea?

Seachem Kanaplex (kanamycin sulfate) is my typical go to for treatment of gram negative bacteria. It's readily absorbed through the skin so it doesn't have to be fed.

So after observing the fish all night I think it is definitely a cut or wound from a decoration. When it was in the bucket looking down it looked like a raised dot but it’s much more of a vertical scratch and it’s right where it’s stomach gets fat

I’ll get better pictures when I’m home from work
