I bought this tank used and need some pointers. The tank is 72(L)x25(H)x20(W) and looks like it has been resealed before but they did a terrible job. I'm working on resealing before setting everything up and my question here is when resealing the tank should the top trim be resealed as well or can get away with just resealing everything else. I'll post pics to show what I'm talking about.

Is that wood trim in the second pic?

Before you go through the effort of removing, cleaning and resealing the tank, have you filled it with water to see if the glass is very scratched up or permanently cloudy?

If you decide to reseal the tank, I prefer to also run a bead of silicone sealant under the plastic trim where it contacts the glass just so the water doesn't wick up underneath the trim and drip down the outside of the glass.

Yes, it's wood trimming and silicone that goes around the whole top part of trimming. I didn't get a chance to fill but I'm cleaning the inside with 50/50 vinegar and water. It's cleaning everything up.

I've never had to deal with actual wood trim on a tank so you may want to wait for suggestions from a member that has experience with how to seal it properly and still look good.
