I was feeding my fish and noticed this at base of rear dorsal fin. Thought it was ich and treated with aquarium salt and raised temperature until I could get some Ich X. But upon further inspection it doesn’t really look like pictures of ich. So I’m reluctant to treat with ich x if that’s not what it is. I’ve never had disease such as these before and want to do right treatment. They are all active and eating. Test you water, what tank mates are there and I don’t see anything that resembles ich but I see fin rot there’s 1 or two white spots but looks more like a fin injury

Maybe it’s just me and my eyesight but I can’t really see any white spots sorry. Could you post better pics?

Don’t see any white spots in the pics. Maybe some debris.

The only other tank mate is a Sailfin pleco that I have had for 4 years, and some newly acquired plants. I’ve had the Cory babies and plants for about 3 weeks and they looked fine at that time. Those are the clearest pictures I have. It’s a white blob on back of fin at base. One of them looks like it’s starting to come loose. If it is fin rot, how do you treat it?

For fin rot you can add pimafix or I’m sure aquarium salt will do the same thing but be careful with the sailfin pleco I used to have a marbled sailfin pleco and it got to 7 inches very fast and started eating everything

I just googled images of fin rot and it looks kind of like that, probably early stages because fins are still intact. I know these babies were stressed on the day I got them from a swap meet. I have no idea how long they were bagged up. They have been growing like weeds. My pleco is probably about 8 inches. He’s peaceful and let’s them poke around the sand right next to him without making any aggressive movement whatsoever. I will check the water next. I have them in a 75g

make sure you keep an eye on the pleco if it gets hungry it will eat anything it can

Will do. Thanks. I’m going to go to LFS store now to exchange Ich X for Pimafix.
Yea I definitely don’t see any ich at all on the fish but definitely see fin rot meaning the person you got them from probably didn’t have that clean of water or the fish was always stressed out 24/7 try to keep the lights in the aquarium off for a few days while treating with pimafix as it makes the fish less stressed and more comfortable with exploring the new tank and reduce feeding by every other day it would also help if you have a water test kit and constantly keep an eye on the water parameters
