thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter Yeah i have watched your vid and the farm (Markys') that gave you the sturgeons is a true inspiration to me.

One more thing i have been wondering , some belluga pictures on the internet are kind of different than the others.

Some have white dorsal and white lining on the middle body, like this,

some show full dark grey-greenish color without any white (exactly like yours and mine).

Whats your thought on this?

Wow that is a beautiful specimen. I wonder if I could legally keep them in Canada. I have no problem keeping cooler temps if that is a need as well.

Thank you. IDK much about the belugas beyond what I've been learning about them for the year since I got them. I even had to look up baby beluga pics on google to make sure yours are consistent with the ID. Changes in color can be significant for the same species or even the same specimen in different moods or conditions, but you know all that. Sorry, a no-answer kind of answer.

Marky's wouldn't let me on the farm, so I've not had a chance to see the belugas of all ages, which I would have loved.

I think it is pretty much impossible to have them in the USA, probably the same in Canada - it's an unnecessary work and huge risk for a farmer. I am still amazed Goban somehow got them in Indonesia.

Yeah i did google pics too and i found pics of different belluga babies.

Here is some update of them and a feeding video.

Update

Most of The belugas and paddles are now about 12" (30cm ), few belugas are still around 8" i assume they adapted to sinking pellets a while later than the rest.
They are now kept in an outdoor pond (paddles need some space or else they will damage their paddles). Out of the 5 paddles only 2 are eating floating pellets, i am facing difficulty to get the other 3 to swap to full pellet diet , kinda feeling stress about this. (any advice on this would be greatly appreciated e.g should i starve them and for how long , etc)
The VATFs are now looking tiny compared to the big belugas. Here are some pics of them on a temporary fiberglass tank while the main pond is getting maintenanced.
