Love all ur work man ??... enjoy that u made all the tanks urself... funny to see how quickly salt spreads...i remember those days ?. Not nearly as hard to keep as people make it seem. Live rock and skimmer is really all u need. As u dive deeper keep an eye out for any oldschool “euroreef” skimmers. Hands down the best imo...
I appreciate it. Yep every tank and sump in my fish room now was built by yours truly. Either I've been extremely lucky to avoid a catastrophic failure yet, or I'm actually doing some stuff right lol.

I dont have a skimmer yet, but I can see needing one down the road when that trigger is bigger. I'll keep an eye out for the euroreefs. I'm definitely looking for a model that I can mount externally on a closed loop to the sump though.

The bicolor, who I've officially named "twitch", seems to enjoy the new digs. I dont know if its the new tank or just maturity kicking in, but the fish is now 500% more gregarious and interesting. I'm starting to see that this fish can make a very entertaining, engaging "wet pet" type in a relatively small FOWLR setup.

The trigger, known as "pagliacci", grows slow but is noticeably more rotund in the past weeks, and has started displaying interesting behaviors like blowing copepods out of the rock with streams of water and moving sand around in esoteric patterns. Very cool fish.

I had never fully understood the demand and price for the harlequin tusk, but now after seeing one in action understand completely. The angel was giving him the business for a couple days when introduced, but they seem to be peaceful for now, and will grow out together in the island tank until my next tank project is done this summer. Very cool, impressive fish even at a small size.

Believe it or not, the trigger is usually quite forthcoming, but seems to have developed an intense disdain for my phone, and practices strict social distancing whenever I try to snap a picture.
