Diaphragm aquarium air pump will not blow a bag up tight. The technique if you aren’t using compressed air/oxygen is in the bagging technique.

fill the bag almost 1/4 of the way with water and fish stand the bag up on the counter and grab the hole opening in your fist and twist it up. Apply 2-3 runberbands. You’ll end up with 1/4 of the bag full of water, 1/2 the bag full of air and 1/4 of the bag twisted and bound by rubber andsPut that bag upside down into the next 2 bags so the fish can’t get trapped in the corners of it, and tie off those two bags individually with rubber ads or overhand knots

secure the bag in the styrofoam lined box packed up snuggly with crumpled news paper.

Thanks everyone! I guess I can ask Pet Zone or Aquatic Warehouse to ship. Seems simple enough. I know the relative basics of it - 3 bags, dont feed, and use an air pump -. I asked the guy at fed ex and he’s like yeah, we can ship em. Has anyone used FedEx for shipping?

Define FedEx shipping, next day (much more expensive than Flat Rate), 3 days later FedEx...

I can ship through petzone - 49.99 bucks. Aquarium Fish Depot is saying it isn’t worth it because the fish will not have a high success rate of living. They said that it is a terrible idea. I thought people ship large fish on here all the time. I want to ship a 9-10 inch Delhezi Bichir. Is it worth it?

Lots of folks get large bichirs through next day shipping (arrival the next day). AFD just shipped a 10-11" aimara (sold for $1K) next day to San Francisco.

Are you using shipping for more than next day? (2-3 days? or 4-6 days?) How many days in shipment is petzone doing from California to the East Coast?
