Hi, my flowerhorn is usually very active and interactive. But he had developed a seizure-like behaviour, i.e., jut out his mouth repeatedly and body twisting around uncontrollably for about 3-5 seconds each time. It happens when we play with him and when he tries to eat from the bottom. We can see that he wants to eat but is unable to because of the seizure-behaviour. His food intake has since dropped tremendously.
Please help!

You may get better results posting in the disease subforum.
Is it violently scraping against anything or just random in the water?
Let’s get some experts on here:

Check ur water parameters. Water issue or maybe an injury from hitting the tank. What are u feeding?

Agreed, either something chemical wise is causing this new behavior or it might've sustained a injury that could've affected it's neurological system. Either way it's always best to check the water first, atleast that way it eliminates possibly causes and helps narrow down what may actually be happening.

Personally, from the sounds of it, I think that it might've given itself a bit of head trauma.
