you can keep it In that for a, little while, but red terros get large, and 180 gals, would be miniumum to keep adults

I'd think a 120 would be a size I'd stick a female in, a 90 would only give her 6 inches extra width, not very roomy. 4x the length of the fish for length of the tank, 2x for width would atleast let it swim around freely. 4x2 is also equally cramped for a 20 inch fish IMO.

How about fire mouth?

Female 12"max, 55gal minimum, prefer 75>gal, even better 120>gal 4x2x2
Male 20"max, likely to take many years to reach this, if ever.
A smaller tank could do well in the meantime, any 48x18x.. should suffice as a minimum, with 4x2x.. being preferrable and 6x2x2> being better.

These are all minimums IMO, ideal is always as large as possible...
240gal for a large male would be great, but not all of us can accomadate that.

Commonly available standards which would be preferrable minimums.
All Glass
120gal 4'x2'x2' 180gal 6'x2'x2'

Perfecto
90Sgal 4'x20"x24" 120Hgal 4'x2'x2' 150EHgal 4'x2'x30" 180gal 6'x2'x2'

if you could get a pic of them would also be good a lot of lfs' sell uropthamolus as RT's and they don't grow as large. Make sure they are actually Red terrors.

Can I have a male red terror cichlid in my newly built 6'×2'×3' tank?
Sure you could, it would be hard to have other cichlid tank mates though. Even a female will claim 4 feet easily, pinning other fish to the remaining 2 feet. The height of the aquarium is 3 feet?
