Wait until you upgrade. In a year your flowerhorn will make that 55 look small.I plan on keeping the FH solo for now but wanting to someday have a tank mate. Preferably some type of armored catfish

Not a huge fan of hornwort. But do want a live plant for the 55. Been thinking about it for a while actually. I plan on removing the fake plant in the back left corner and putting a live plant in its placeIt does spread fast. The giant duckweed is a bit more decorative. Hornwort also works for the same purpose. My vegetarian fish love it. I recently started having to take it out.
Anubias or Java fern are good starter plants and are tough enough to withstand attacks. Val and Amazon sword are a bit harder but still good for beginners (both need strong light and root tabs). Not a huge fan of hornwort. But do want a live plant for the 55. Hang some pothos in your tank. Not a huge fan of hornwort. But do want a live plant for the 55. Been thinking about it for a while actually. I plan on removing the fake plant in the back left corner and putting a live plant in its place
Not very familiar with live plants, what’s a root tab lol. I do really really love Amazon sword and I have 2 windows for natural sunlight and the tank lights. Would a Amazon sword be able to withstand the FHAnubias or Java fern are good starter plants and are tough enough to withstand attacks. Just wedging it into some rocks can work for some cichlids but if you attach them to some driftwood can really work good.Anubias or Java fern are good starter plants and are tough enough to withstand attacks. What’s a root tab? Could I how would I attach it to my driftwood in the tankJust wedging it into some rocks can work for some cichlids but if you attach them to some driftwood can really work good.
Anubias and Java are meant to be rooted into rocks and wood. Essentially you tie the plant by roots or string onto the decoration so it can eventually grab on on its own. What’s a root tab? Could I how would I attach it to my driftwood in the tank
What are some other plants I could attach to my driftwood. I’m liking the idea of that.Anubias and Java are meant to be rooted into rocks and wood. Essentially you tie the plant by roots or string onto the decoration so it can eventually grab on on its own.
A root tab is similar to a fertilizer spike, a tab that contains nutrients that gets buried under the plant to feed it nutrients. Not sure if the window is enough for a sword. Mine is in high sunlight and did not do well until I got a strong light meant for planted tanks. May or may not survive flowerhorn depending on how bad yours is.
anubias or java fern. You can use fishing line and tie the plant to the driftwood. Eventually the plant will attach to the driftwood and grow off of it. I also would hang some pothos to lower nitrates. What are some other plants I could attach to my driftwood. I’m liking the idea of that.
